1500 Club Member, Rob Kingsbury, has finally had his Member Page updated...

Only took a small bribe even though the wife threatened me will divorce for doing this on our 12th Anniversary. Those nay-sayers who say that I don't have my priorities straight can kiss my arse! ;-)

Here's the latest update of the "Pepto-Bizmobile" with many detailed photos.

This is my friend and 1500 Club Member, Freddy Peeters, who's help was immeasurable in obtaining the World's oldest known surviving Volkswagen Factory Sunroof car.

Freddy is holding up a cut-away view of the original 32 PHN Side-Draft Carburetor which also happens to be on the Original Engine in this very rare car.

The "Port Hueneme Don Juan" refers to the name of the port in California where it was delivered and the name of the Vessel which transported it to it's new home.

Lots of stuff has happened since the last update, but I've been very busy.

Here's a recap...

Oscar Guevara's Anthracite Notch won "Best Vintage Notch" at So Cal's Bug-In 33

Rob's Beautifully restored Birch-Green Notch won "Best of Show" at VWs on the Green in Denver, Colorado

(Pictures Pending)

Wayne and Caroline Coley won "Best of Show" at the "All Types" VW Show in England

Now, the newest 1500 Club Member, Oscar Guevara, and his 1962 Anthracite Notchback has been added to the website.
Although his original interior has since been replaced by the previous owner, here is a fine example of a very well done
1500 Club approved alternative. Wait until you see his other VWs and make sure to have a drool-rag handy!
Welcome to our Family, Oscar!

We are growing like a weed... now if I can get some pictures of Aaron Britcher and Neil Mast's cars, we'll be almost complete
Still need to hunt down Deena Reese and her super clean, show-winning '64 Squareback!

Godsbug's '64 Notch, affectionately known as Anne, named after it's late Owner

Christopher 'Godsbug' Matthews and "Anne", his '64 Sunroof daily driver has finally been added to the website.
This beautiful car is featured in the first annual Type-3 Calendar for 2008.

Gary has asked me to update his profile and insert a few more pictures of his Rare Canadian "TS" Model '64 Notchback.

He also sent me his VIN for his car and I just realized that Pedro, Gary, and Whittick's cars were all produced
on the very same day! They are each within 1K numbers of each other. April 2, which happens to be exactly 2 weeks
away, was a very important day for these 3 Members.

New 1500 Member, Adam Barrett, has been added to the site. Aside from the erroneous side-marker locations on this all Original Notch,
it's one of the finest early Type-3s in the World, and has some very nice Swedish only Accessories.

We just need some more pictures to add to his Gallery!

Hi Guys,

Just to let you know, that yesterday the new owner came to collect my Nutria Notchback.
I was sad to see it go - in fact there was a lump in my throat as it drove away - but it has gone to a good home, which made it easier to let it go.

The new owner is a good guy called Wayne Coley, he lives in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire in the UK, so the car will stay in this country.
He wants to keep it stock, and show it, so expect to see just as much of it – if not more!

I mentioned the 1500 club to him and he has been on the web site and is keen to join.
I will forward his e-mail contact details later as I have left them at home.

It’s time to look forward now and not back…
There is a 64 RHD Sunroof Notchback in my garage that needs restoring… but don’t hold your breath!!

- Mike Dempster (email correspondence)

(Congrats goes to Wayne Coley and Mikey, now we are just waiting to see some details and pictures of this '64 RHD Sunroof Notchback to add to the webpage  - Notchboy)
